What time should I arrive?

Registration opens for all participants at 09.30am on Sunday May 12th. The car park is open from 09.30am too, so please do not arrive before this time.

Where do I need to go?

Participants need to enter via the entrance to Henham Barns, which is an entrance to the park off the A12. Please see the map below for instructions of how to get to the park and which entrance to use. Other entrances to the park will not be open to you.

Our car park attendants will help direct you there. If you are arriving by bike or walking, please go in the same entrance and lock the bike to the fence separating the car park from the barns.

Where does the course go?

The 10k trail run course is two laps of the 5k course. The start line is on the bridge over the lake, next to the main festival ring, which is where spectators will be. The course runs up the hill towards the barns, across the expansive large field, taking in The Stables B&B and back through the woods before winding down back towards the lake.

10k runners must remember to run a second lap of the route, while 5k runners must remember to deviate away from the bridge after the first lap and pass under the floral gantry to finish. 10k runners will do this on the second and final lap. This will be clearly marked to remind you on the day.

Where do I get my race pack?

You’ll be able to collect your race pack from the registration tent on the day – simply bring a digital copy (please avoid printing, if possible) of the confirmation email you received when you purchased your ticket and our registration team will give you your number, pins, course map and chip timing chip. If you can’t find your confirmation email, do not panic, as our team will be able to help you locate your number.

What should I bring?

You’ll need to bring your running shoes and clothes you feel comfortable running in. Also, if you want to purchase food and drinks and take part in other activities, we advise bringing some cash – most of our food vendors accept card payments but there will be opportunities for donations to our charity and other items you may wish to purchase.

Please do not bring disposable plastic bottles; we will have plenty of free water available for runners in Vegware biodegradable cups. There will also be a bar and coffee shop to purchase other drinks. You are welcome to bring a reusable water bottle as there will be a tap at the festival area.

What else will there be after my race?

Along with the races, which take place at midday, there will be a great selection of local food stalls, live musicians performing throughout the day, sports massage, activities for youngsters and a bar. Our charity, Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind, will be available with information and support on mental health. The 1k Family Fun Run takes place after the 10k and 5k races have completed so there will be an opportunity to enjoy the rest of the festival during this time.

Who else should I bring?

Friends and family are all welcome to attend the festival and there are no entrance fees for spectators. Because the 10k route is two laps of the 5k course, spectators watching a 10k runner will get two opportunities to cheer them on.

Please note, children under 10 must be supervised while you are running.

In the days following the race you’ll have the chance to purchase a picture of yourself finishing your race – we will email you details of how to do this following the event.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Henham Park Festival of Running 2019 on May 12th for a fun day of activity in a truly stunning setting.
